Born and raised in Portland, Maine U.S.A., Joe has been an integral
part of the areas vibrant music scene for many years.
Joe began playing in bands as a schoolboy in the late 60's.Throughout
his career, Joe has shared or worked the stage with such hall of famers
as Aerosmith ,The Byrds; Gene Clarke,and the Jefferson Airplanes' Jorma
Kaukonen.
His various bands have opened shows for such acts as Concrete Blond,
The Long Riders, Robin Lane and the Chartbusters, Jon Butcher Axis, The
Tubes, and Phish. He has performed for Governors ;Joe Brennan and John Baldacci,
and former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton.

During the 90's Joe moved behind the scenes to pursue his engineering
career when with the help of his friend and studio owner Tom Daly, he
founded Portlands legendary Big Sound studio.While there he helped
launch the careers of many local and regional acts. Joe's own band, The
Troubles , have two releases to date which are sprinkled with guitar
based,vocal harmony laced pop, reminiscent of all classic pop from the
60's through the 90's. His 1980's group The Kopterz, continue to perform at
colleges,concerts, clubs and private functions throughout New England.

After departing Big Sound in 2001 after more than 10 years, Joe toured for two and a half years with his friend, Maine comedian Bob Marley handling sound and lighting co-production duties.

2004 finds Joe once again on the cusp of another promising venture in conjunction with Falmouth businessman Andrew Morgan. Foreside Studios, the brainchild of Morgan is a multi-room audio,video, and web production house located in Falmouth Foreside, Maine, just north of Portland. It boasts an artist friendly environment with the best of both analog and digital formats.
